RM: Trains future leaders - Builds healthy ministries on the Gulf Coast.
Hurricane Katrina damaged structures along the Gulf Coast. There has been a lot of physical rebuilding; but Katrina has had a personal and spiritual affect on lives.
Relevant Ministry's primary focus for the next three to five years will be to develop an internship program and place interns to serve along the Gulf Coast. Just like the Gulf Coast needed volunteers to come alongside to rebuild homes, Relevant Ministry sees the need to bring interns and volunteers to the Gulf Coast for spiritual rebuilding.

- Relevant Ministry is a biblically-based ministry
that places interns from colleges/universities, serminaries,
ministries, and sending churches who have a vision to impact
lives for Jesus Christ and build up the body of Christ through
relevant and creative ministry.
- Relevant Ministry has a vision is to reach out and partner
with churches and ministries along the Gulf Coast that have
been
impacted
by the effects of Hurricane Katrina. We provide both long-term
and short-term internships opportunities with an emphasis
on spiritual rebuilding.
- Relevant Ministry has a vision to provide churches and ministries opportunities to support financially, to serve as short-term mission teams, and to send interns for the experience of a lifetime on the Gulf Coast.
Meet our board...
Jay Burns:
Jay has spent most of his life in the South.
Growing up in the home of a pastor, Jay has a heart for ministry
and is supportive to those in leadership positions.
Jay graduated from William Carey University with a B.A. in Social Science and taught school for two years before going to Domino’s Pizza. Jay is a computer technician for Domino’s Pizza (RPM, LLC.)
Jay serves in his church as an elder and is actively involved in a variety of ministries including working with audio/visual for the worship services and teaching adult Sunday School clasess.
Jay brings to the Board a sense of enthusiasm and encouragement. Jay and his wife, Sharon live in Gulfport, Mississippi and have three teenage children.
